Description:
Wenge veneer is naturally dark brown. The deep color of the wood adds dramatic effect by itself or a bold contrast with other woods. Wenge is a West African hardwood that is very dense, hard and heavy with a coarse texture and a porous grain.
Wenge Wood Venener Flat Cut has great lines that really make this wood unique. Wenge has a very distinct grain structure that is coarse and somewhat brittle. It is a great choice where a naturally dark wood is needed.
Wenge can be found in Zaire, Cameroon and Gabon. It is also known dikela, mibotu, bokonge, tshikalakala, awong, nson-so and palissandre du Congo.
Wenge is striking rich, dark, coffee-colored wood with subtly contrasting, nearly black streaks. Straight grained with a course texture and matte finish, wenge produces large leaves well suited for architectural use. This extraordinary wood lends an elegant and exotic appeal to the build environment.
