This model, the 1336S-EN4, is a language module that is manufactured by AB to be used specifically with the 1336 series, including the PLUS, PLUS II, Force and Regent product lines. This module is one of the main components of the programming system since it will provide a language to start with. Each drive must be equipped with one or more than one module language in order to have functionality. All Language modules, including the AB 1336-EN4 language module, will now include a firmware reference in the catalog number. The firmware model for this module is 4. The AB 1336-EN4 language module is specific for the English language, which enables this unit to translate signals into this language, in order to be displayed on the human-module interface, so that it may be read or understood by machine operators and programmers.
Without the 1336-EN4 module it would be impossible to run a 1336 speed drive because there would be no way to translate signal and programming options; in fact, each drive would need to have a language module installed by the factory, which is usually the AB 1336-EN4 language module in its English version. The AB 1336-EN4 language module produces English horsepower; its voltage rating will vary depending on the drive attached to it. This module is installed on the inside of the drive and is usually inside the same enclosure. It is utterly important the that this module’s operational temperature is taken into account, in order to preserve the life and correct functioning of both the language module and the drive to which it is attached. An operational temperature is the ambient air temperature range, which should, in this module’s case, fluctuate between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius.
