ASTM A182 F304 Stainless Steel Flanges are the most commonly used flanges from all the other austenitic stainless steel grades. The content of chromium in the Stainless Steel 304L Flanges ranges between 15 % and 20 %, while the alloy used to make these flanges contains nickel between the range of 2% to 10.5%. In the SS 304L Blind Flange metals such as chromium and nickel are the main non-iron or non-ferrous constituents. As compared to carbon steel, SS 304L Slip On Flange is less electrically as well as thermally conductive. Further, these SS 304 Blind Flange tend to essentially have a non-magnetic nature. Since the A182 Gr F304L SORF has a higher resistance to corrosion in comparison to regular steel grades, it is relatively easy to form into various shapes stainless steel 304 is the most widely used grades across a variety of sectors.
In the term ASTM A182 F304L Flanges, the Specification is ASTM A182, which in turn is a Standard meant for either Forged or Rolled Alloy as well as Stainless Steel Pipe Flanges, Forged Fittings, Valves and Parts. The specification for the ASTM A182, covers the mentioned components as they have been designed keeping in mind their use in High-Temperature applications. Apart from having Stainless Steel 304 Flanges produced from regular 304 grade metal, its derivatives i.e. 304H & 304L too can be used in their manufacture. The difference between all the three metals is that the content of carbon varies across each grave.
