Processless CTP plates offer an alternative to traditional CTP plates which require chemical processing, making them a more environmentally-friendly option for printing.
Processless CTP plates are made up of an aluminum base that is coated with a photosensitive material. When this material is exposed to UV light through a film negative or digital file, a chemical reaction occurs in the photosensitive layer. This reaction causes the exposed areas to become receptive to ink while the unexposed areas remain hydrophilic and repel ink.
The ink adheres to the exposed areas while the non-image areas remain free of ink. This process eliminates the need for chemical processing, making Processless CTP plates a sustainable option that reduces the environmental impact of the printing process.
