APPLICATION OF JET MUD MIXER
When making up, the materials of drilling fluid (such as bentonite and barite powder) and corresponding chemical additives (such as a polymer) into the mixing hopper and then go into the recycling tank through the jet unit. If put them into the mud tank directly, the materials of drilling fluid and chemical additives will be deposited largely or dumped together and we can’t obtain diffused and well-proportioned drilling fluid. The mud mixing unit can increase the shear strength of the liquid in the tube, better improve material dispersion, and increase the liquid mixing pressure, to get the material to the full cycle and mixing.

Sand pump and jet mixing hopper can either be combined or be installed separately, and they are connected by pipelines and valves. Seals adopt packing and mechanical double seals, with good sealing performance.
A single jet mud mixer is made up of one sand pump, one jet mixing hopper that is installed in a base with pipe valves. Duplex jet mud mixer is composed of two sand pumps and two jet mixing hoppers.
How to select and what impact mud mixing hopper unit impact
First, we should confirm the treating capacity we need. And for oil and gas drilling kindly suggest a 150m³/h flow rate. Then confirm the pump, necessary pipelines and also can depend on supplier suggestion
Mixing hopper hydraulic consumption should be as little as possible, otherwise, the flow rate may decrease by too much
Distance between Venturi hopper and nozzle should be proper. The optimal distance should be 32~90mm
Output pressure should be designed properly. If the discharge port pressure is too high the flow rate of the mixing pump will be lower than expected
The higher pressure at the inlet port the higher the flow rate of the mixing hopper
The higher hopper mounted the lower mixing capacity
