Power Input: Receives high-speed, low-torque rotational energy from the hydraulic motor (or engine via a driveshaft in mechanical systems).
Gear Reduction: Multi-stage gears (planetary/spur) reduce speed while increasing torque.
Output to Sprocket: The final drive transfers torque to the sprocket, which engages with the track links, propelling the excavator.
