Fiber optic pigtail and fiber optic jumper are two kinds of common network connection components in optical fiber network. They share many common features, but there are also some differences in some aspects. Fiber pigtail, also called pigtail, refers to fiber cable assembly only with connector on one end of the fiber optic cable, and the other end is a bare fiber or optical fiber cable, the other end need to connect with other fiber optic cable via fusion splicing. Optical fiber jumper refers to a short fiber optic cable with connectors at both ends. The connector types at both ends of the fiber optic cable can be the same or different. Both of them can use single-mode or multimode optical fiber or SM or MM connector, and they can be made into simplex and duplex. In addition, both the fiber patch cord or fiber pigtail, can be connected with a variety of fiber optic connectors including FC, SC, ST, LC, MTRJ, MPO, MU, SMA, E2000 etc..
