YY410 UL790 Fire Performance Tester for Building Materials

 

1. Scope of Application:

These requirements cover all roofing materials exposed to simulated fires on the exterior of buildings for roofing materials installed on combustible or non-combustible substrates. It is to assess the fire resistance of roofs and assemblies under simulated real conditions, evaluating specimens at A1.82m, B2.4m and C3.9m to Class AC. In addition, it can be used to test the fire resistance of photovoltaic cell modules.

3. Performance Parameters

  • The data acquisition system includes the following parts:

17.1 16-bit thermocouple input acquisition module to collect temperature signal;

17.2 The 16-bit analog-to-digital conversion input module is used to collect gas flow signal and control gas flow;

17.3 16-bit data input/output module collects fan pressure;

  • Computer system:

Industrial control computer + first-line brand 21-inch monitor. Equipped with professional PC test software;

  • Sample ignition device: a gas burner is provided, whose flame can engulf the combustion material, and the temperature of the gas burner can be adjusted to 880±10℃
  • The metal grid can support the material, and the tray can be rotated to facilitate the full burning of the material;
  • Control system:

21.1 Temperature control: The temperature acquisition module is used to feedback the temperature signal to the flow pid control system, and then the flow size is adjusted by the gas mass flowmeter to completely form a closed-loop control;

21.2 Fan wind speed control: the feedback signal of the wind speed converter module is sent to the controller, and the wind speed is automatically adjusted by the frequency converter;

  • Security system:

22.1 Gas leakage and carbon monoxide alarms are installed in the middle and top of the combustion chamber;

22.2 When the gas concentration in the test room reaches the set safety value, stop the gas main valve and give an alarm, and open the exhaust fan for exhaust;

22.3 When the concentration of carbon monoxide in the testing room reaches the set safety value, alarm is given and the smoke exhaust fan is opened for exhaust;

  • Equipment power supply and power: power supply 380V 50HZ three-phase five-wire system, power is not less than 30KW;

 

4. Equipment description and composition:

  • The equipment, as shown in Figure A1 and A2, consists of the following parts:
    • A test platform mounted on a frame for mounting the sample under test. The tilt of the frame is adjustable;
    • a member made of non-combustible panels placed in front of the frame for simulating eaves and cornice;
    • A gas burner (for intermittent flame, flame diffusion and floating block test), the structure of which is: a length of 1.12m, nominal 50mm (outer diameter 60.3 mm) stainless steel pipe, with a 12.7mm wide, 910mm long slot in the direction of the test platform. The burner is fed by a nominal 25mm (outer diameter 33.4mm) pipe from both ends to maintain uniform pressure;
    • a supply fan and a supply channel for providing the required wind conditions. The air delivered by the blower is introduced from the test room;
    • Some adjustable fins are installed in the air supply channel to adjust the direction of air flow and reduce turbulence;
    • An isolation plate mounted on the tail edge of the test platform to prevent flame reignition from the tail of the platform;
    • Fire panels extending from the sides and bottom of the vent to the simulated eaves and cornice (see A2) (not used in the burn block test).
  • The test should be carried out in a room that can be drained to release the increase in air pressure caused by the injection of air. During the test, all doors and Windows of the room should be closed, otherwise other necessary measures should be taken to prevent outside wind and weather from affecting the test results. Tests should not be performed if the room temperature is below 10ºC or above 32ºC.
  • Before the test, mortar (cement, lime, water) should be used to fill the gap between the front edge of the roof covering material and the frame to prevent air or flame from passing through the bottom of the sample during the test.
  • In the test, the air flow should flow evenly from the top surface of the test sample, and the air flow speed should be calibrated with a piece of 1m× 1.3m plywood before the test. Put the plywood on the slope, and the inclination is: every 300 ㎜ increase in the horizontal direction and 127 ㎜ increase in the vertical height. The three measuring points are located in the middle of the slope, 94 ㎜ above the surface of the plate, 1 in the center position, and 2 in the 76 ㎜ from both sides. The airflow speed should be (19 ± 0.8) km/h, and the airflow speed should be read using a direct reading device with a scale not exceeding 6m/min or a timing reading device with a scale not exceeding 1.5m /min (timing 1 minute).
  • The inclination of the test platform during the test should be 127mm/300mm; Or use the maximum pitch recommended by the manufacturer of building roofing materials, but not exceeding 127mm/300mm.
