Galvanized steel wire strand is usually used to bear the tension. It can be used for many purposes, such as overhead and as a stay wire, and can also be used as a railway signaling strand.

The stranded wire in the standard is divided into seven grades according to the minimum tensile strength (tensile strength) (divided into Grade350, Grade480, Grade700, Grade850, Grade1000, Grade1150, Grade1300, of which Grade1300 has the highest strength. The outer diameter of the stranded wire can be to 23.8mm.

Stay wire is produced in accordance with BS 183 or other standards provided by the customer.

Construction

The outer layer of all strands is right-handed unless otherwise specified by the customer. The pitch ratio is 12 to 18 times the outer diameter of the strand.

Among them, galvanized steel wire rope is favored because of its excellent corrosion resistance; The phosphating coated wire rope is not only corrosion resistant, but also has good wear resistance.
 
Material:
Steel wire rope material is usually made of high-strength steel wire, the common steel wire material is carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire, high carbon steel wire and alloy steel wire.

Carbon steel : Carbon steel wire is the most common steel wire rope material, with high strength and good wear resistance. The strength and durability of carbon steel wire can be further improved by heat treatment processes such as quenching and tempering.

Stainless steel : Stainless steel wire is composed of chromium, nickel and other alloy elements, with corrosion resistance. Stainless steel wire ropes are often used in environments where corrosion resistance is required, such as Marine engineering.

High carbon steel : High carbon steel wire has higher strength and hardness and is suitable for applications that resist tension and wear, such as lifting machinery and conveyor belts.

Alloy steel : Alloy steel wire consists of a variety of metal alloys to provide additional strength and hardness. Alloy steel wire is commonly used in special applications such as aerospace and automotive engineering.
Rope core: 1.Rope core and code a fiber core (natural or synthetic) : FC, such as FC stainless steel wire rope. 2. Natural fiber core: NF, such as NF stainless steel wire rope. 3. Synthetic fiber core: SF, such as SF stainless steel wire rope. 4. Wire core: IWR(or IWRC), such as IWR stainless steel wire rope. 5. Wire core : IWS, such as IWS stainless steel wire rope. b. Size: Diameter of the rope in millimeter or inches

c. Construction: Number of strands, number of wires per strand and type of strand construction.

d. Type of Core: Fiber core( FC), independent wire rope core(IWRC) or independent wire strand core(IWSC).

e. Lay: Right regular lay, left regular lay, right lang lay, left lang lay.

f. Coating: Bright(ungalvanized), galvanized or stainless, PVC or Grease.

g. Grade of wire: Tensile strength of wires.

h. Breaking Load: Minimum or calculated breaking load in tones or pounds.
