2. FPC Design Parameters​

2.1 Main Technical Parameters​

2.1.1 Dimensional Specifications​

 Precision FPC: Maximum size: 240×500 mm (limit: 250×500 mm); minimum size: no restriction.​
 

 Roll Material Board: Maximum width: 240 mm; maximum length: 100 meters.​
 

2.1.2 Board Layer Count​

 Single-Layer Board: Simple structure, typically applied in fields with relatively simple circuits (e.g., industrial control, electronic instruments).​
 

 Double-Layer Board: Equipped with two copper foil layers and increased vias to form conductive paths, commonly used in products such as mobile phones and automotive instruments.​
 

2.1.3 Solder Mask Color​

FPC solder mask colors include yellow, black, and white, with recommendations as follows:​

 Yellow: Suitable for most products (e.g., various cable products) – highly recommended.​
 

 Black: Commonly used in high-end or light-absorbing products (e.g., automobiles, mobile phones, LED displays).​
 

 White: Features an additional white coating compared to yellow solder mask, often used in products requiring reflection (e.g., lighting fixtures, LED displays, medical aesthetics equipment).​
 

2.1.4 Copper Foil Thickness​

 Precision FPC:​
 

 Single-layer board: Optional 18 μm (0.5 oz) or 35 μm (1 oz);​
 

 Double-layer board: Optional 12 μm (0.33 oz), 18 μm (0.5 oz), or 35 μm (1 oz).​
 

 Ordinary FPC:​
 

 Single-layer board: Optional 18 μm, 25 μm, 35 μm (1 oz), or 50 μm;​
 

 Double-layer board: Optional 18-25 μm, 25-25 μm, 35-35 μm, or 35-70 μm.​
 

2.1.5 Minimum Line Width/Line Spacing​

Generally, smaller line width/line spacing increases manufacturing difficulty and defect rate. It is recommended to use a minimum of 3 mil.​
