This pilot-operated pressure reducing valve is adept at maintaining secondary circuit pressure within set limits, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The valve features a main valve with a control spool and a pilot control valve with adjustable pressure settings, allowing for precise control over hydraulic flow and pressure. In its default state, the valve permits unrestricted flow from channel P to channel A, while simultaneously applying pressure via the bore to the piston area against the compression spring. The design includes a nozzle that applies pressure to the spring-loaded side of the control spool and guides hydraulic fluid flow until the desired reduced pressure is achieved.
The balance between channel A's pressure and the set value on the compression spring determines when the ball opens, signaling that the required reduced pressure has been reached. Should external forces cause an increase in channel A's pressure, the control spool will adjust accordingly against the compression spring to prevent further increases by discharging excess hydraulic fluid into the tank through channel T. This feature ensures consistent operation under varying load conditions. Additionally, this model includes an externally routed pilot oil return via port Y that must be connected depressurized to ensure proper functionality. Monitoring of reduced pressure is facilitated by a dedicated gauge connection for channel A. The Bosch Rexroth 3DR16P5-5X/250Y/00M offers flexibility with various adjustment types such as rotary knobs and lockable scales, catering to different user preferences for system adjustments. It is designed for subplate mounting with porting patterns compliant with ISO standards.
