About 1746-OV16

The 1746-OV16 is an AB manufacture discrete output module. This module is provided with Sixteen (16) output channels in One (1) channel group. It is a sinking output module that delivers 10-50VDC output voltage range with minimum output of 24VDC. This module is ideally used to energize DC operated electrical loads such as relay coils, indicating and sounding devices.

The 1746-OV16 has a backplane current consumption of 0.270 Amperes at 5VDC with OFF-state leakage current of 1 mA and minimum load current of 1 mA as well. Each channel of this output module has a signal delay of 0.1 ms for ON to OFF transition and 1.0 ms for OFF to ON transition. The module’s continuous output current per point is 0.50 A at 30 °C (86 °F) and 0.25 A at 60 °C (140 °F) while the continuous output current per module is 8.0 A at 30 °C (86 °F) and 4.0 A at 60 °C (140 °F). This module exhibits a maximum On-state voltage drop 1.2V at 0.5 A.

The 1746-OV16 has a Surge current per point of 3.0 A for 10 ms that is repeatable once every 1 second 30 °C (86 °F) and 2 seconds repeatability at 60 °C (140 °F).

The 1746-OV16 is installed to an SLC 500 chassis. It is a single slot-width module that directly attached to a Modular style SLC 500 hardware. It comes with a removable terminal block that is pre-installed to the module. This terminal block may be removed from the module to implement easier and faster wiring activity.

It is a 16 channel output module that is compatible with the SLC 500 system. It has a heat dissipation per point of 0.388W and a total heat dissipation of 7.6W. The 1746-OV16 has a removable terminal block which allows you to connect or modify the wiring on the module easily. It has an operating voltage that ranges from 10-50V DC. It has a higher backplane current consumption (0.27 A) than the 1746-OV8 and the 1746-OVP16 modules. The 1746-OV16 has a maximum signal delay of 0.1ms in the On-state and of 1ms in the Off-state. It has a continuous current per output and per module of 0.5A and 8A at 30°C and 0.25A and 4A at 60°C, respectively. The 1746-OV16 has a maximum Off-state leakage of 1 mA and a maximum On-state voltage drop of 1.2V at 0.5A and 3A for 10ms maximum surge current per point.
