Jrkconn offers a wide range of these simple and cost-effective connector types. A pin header is a type of electrical connector. A pin header consists of one or more rows of metal pins moulded into a plastic base, often 2.54mm (0.1in) apart but available in a wide range of pitches. Male pin headers are inexpensive due to their simplicity. Their female counterparts are sometimes called female socket headers.
Pin headers are usually through-hole (THD / THT) devices, but there are also surface-mount (SMD / SMT) versions. In the SMD case, the solder side of the pins is bent at a 90 degree angle for soldering to PCB pads.
Headers can be either straight (vertical) or right-angled, the latter sometimes being used to connect two PCBs horizontally.
