Purpose
The radiation-resistant detector is a detection device, suitable for testing the ultraviolet resistance of various laminated glass products such as automotive laminated glass, architectural laminated glass, and fireproof glass. It is widely used in glass processing enterprises and various quality supervision and inspection departments.
Equipment Structure and Working Principle
This instrument uses an ozone-free quartz tube medium-pressure mercury vapor arc lamp as the radiation source to irradiate the laminated glass to determine whether obvious color change or transmission ratio reduction occurs in the glass after a certain period of irradiation. The instrument is shown in the figure below and consists of power supply, ultraviolet lamp, sample barrel, motor, reducer, control circuit, etc. The ultraviolet lamp is vertically placed on the vertical central axis of the sample barrel inside the instrument. The sample barrel is driven by the motor and reducer to rotate around the vertical axis, and the sample is placed on the inner wall of the sample barrel to obtain uniform radiation illumination through the rotation of the sample barrel. The control circuit controls the irradiation time and the temperature inside the instrument cavity to meet the test requirements.
Operation method
1. Clean the sample with absorbent cotton dipped in anhydrous ethanol. First, test the transmittance of the sample according to the method in GB5137.2, then place the sample in the sample bucket of this testing instrument and close the sample compartment door.
2. Adjust the time and temperature regulators on the control panel to set the irradiation time and the test temperature of the sample.
3. Connect the power supply of the instrument, press the "Power" key, and turn on the main power switch of the instrument.
4. Press the "Ultraviolet Light" key to light up the ultraviolet lamp tube.
5. Press the "Sample Bucket" key to make the sample bucket start rotating.
6. Press the "Temperature" key to activate the temperature control function. When the temperature inside the chamber exceeds the set temperature, the axial flow fan at the top of the instrument automatically turns on for cooling to achieve the purpose of maintaining a constant temperature.
7. Press the "Timing" key to start timing. When the running time reaches the pre-set time, stop all operations and only keep the main power switch in the on standby state.
8. Press the "Power" key to turn off the instrument.
9. Open the sample compartment door, take out the sample, and test the transmittance of the sample after irradiation.
Maintenance and troubleshooting of the instrument
1. This instrument has a large power for the ultraviolet lamp, and the power transformer will generate a high temperature. The instrument has been designed with a ventilation duct for the transformer to dissipate heat. Therefore, when the instrument is placed indoors, a 20cm gap should be left between it and the wall for heat dissipation.
2. The transformer has magnetic saturation characteristics. Therefore, after turning off the ultraviolet lamp, it is necessary to wait for a few minutes before turning it on again. Otherwise, the ultraviolet lamp cannot be lit.
