It is a form of energy, which can be released by atoms. It is composed of many small bundles of tiny particles with energy and power but no quality. These particles are called photons and are the most basic unit of light. Photons are released because electrons move. In an atom, electrons move in orbits around the atom. Electrons have different energies in different orbital functions. Generally speaking, electrons with greater energy move away from the nucleus in an orbit. When an electron jumps from a lower orbit to a higher orbit, the energy level increases. Conversely, when the electron falls from a higher orbital function to a lower orbital function, the electron releases energy. Energy is released in the form of photons. Higher energy drops release higher energy photons, which is characterized by its high frequency.
Free electrons fall into empty electron holes from the P-type layer through the diode. This involves falling from the conduction band to a lower orbital function, so electrons release energy in the form of photons. This happens in any diode. When the diode is made of a certain substance, you can only see the photons. In standard silicon diode atoms, for example, when electrons fall to a relatively short distance, atoms are arranged in this way. As a result, because the electronic frequency is so low, human eyes cannot see it.
For visible light LEDs, such as those used in digital display clocks, the size of the gap determines the frequency of photons, in other words the color of light. When all diodes emit light, most of them are not very effective. In ordinary diodes, the semiconductor material itself attracts a large amount of light energy and ends. The light-emitting diode is covered by a plastic bulb to concentrate the light in a specific direction.
Re:Why is the lamp damage rate so high in a low temperature and humid environment? Why do many so-called traditional three-proof lamps on the market have a very short service life, and the product quality varies from good to bad. The actual three-proof lamps have an IP level of protection above IP65, but manufacturers that can achieve dustproof, low temperature and waterproof protection are not many.
As we all know, three-proof lamps are generally used in closed or semi-enclosed humid low-temperature environments, and three-proof lamps not only require structural design to be waterproof and dustproof, but also electronic components are more resistant to low temperature requirements.
