Magnesium-based sacrificial anodes include pure magnesium, Mg-Mn alloys, and Mg-AI-Zn-Mn alloys. Their common characteristics are small density, large theoretical capacitance, negative potential, and low polarizability. The driving voltage is very large (>0.6V), which is suitable for the protection of metal components in soil with high resistivity and fresh water.
