Rubber inflatable fenders have been widely applied in scenarios such as oil tankers, container ships, yachts, offshore platforms, large shipyards, military port terminals, and large bridge piers.
According to ISO 17357:2002 Ships and Marine Technology - High-Pressure Floating Inflatable Rubber Fenders, fenders mainly consist of the following components:
Outer rubber layer: A rubber layer covering the exterior of the fender, designed to protect the skeleton material and inner rubber layer from external damage or wear.
Inner rubber layer: A rubber layer on the inner wall of the fender, which prevents gas leakage and maintains the air pressure inside the fender.
Cord fabric layer: Composed of rubber-coated cord fabric, serving as the skeleton material of the fender.
Coil ring: A steel ring placed at one (or both) end(s) of the fender, used to fix the ends of the cord fabric layer.
End flanges: Metal components at both ends of the fender, where inflation valves and safety valves can be installed.

The sheathed inflatable rubber fender is a high-strength and high-wear-resistant fender system developed in accordance with ISO 17357 (Net Type Pneumatic Fenders), with dimensions ranging from D1.0m×L1.5 to D3.3m×L6.5m. Its distinct appearance feature is that the main body of the inflatable fender is wrapped with a tire chain mesh, significantly extending the service life of the fender body. The tires used are all specially treated for a better surface appearance, and the chains are fully hot-dip galvanized for strong resistance to seawater corrosion.
