Function:
The crane oil storage cylinder usually refers to the hydraulic oil tank in the hydraulic system of the crane. Its main role includes the following aspects:
1. Storing hydraulic oil
- The most basic function of the oil storage cylinder is to store the hydraulic oil required by the hydraulic system. Hydraulic oil is the working medium of the hydraulic system, used to transmit power and control the action of hydraulic components. The capacity of the oil storage cylinder is usually designed according to the size and working demand of the hydraulic system of the crane to ensure sufficient supply of hydraulic oil.
2. Heat dissipation function
- When the hydraulic oil circulates in the hydraulic system, it will generate heat due to friction and pressure changes. The large surface area and internal structure of the reservoir barrel are designed to help dissipate the heat from the hydraulic fluid and prevent it from becoming too hot. Excessive oil temperature will result in lower viscosity of the hydraulic oil, reduced lubrication performance, and may even damage the hydraulic components.
3. Separate air and impurities
- During the operation of the hydraulic system, the hydraulic oil may be mixed with air and impurities. The reservoir cylinder, through its internal oil return area and static area, allows the air in the hydraulic fluid to naturally separate and escape, while precipitating impurities. This helps to maintain the cleanliness of the hydraulic fluid and reduces wear and failure of hydraulic components.
4. Replenish the hydraulic oil
- During operation of the hydraulic system, the hydraulic fluid may diminish due to leakage or evaporation. The reservoir can be easily replenished with hydraulic oil to ensure that the hydraulic system always has enough oil to maintain normal operation.
5. Balancing Pressure
- The reservoir is normally connected to the atmosphere of the hydraulic system and the pressure inside and outside the tank is balanced by means of a breather hole or venting device. This can prevent hydraulic oil leakage or tank deformation due to excessive pressure difference between inside and outside.
6. Hydraulic oil buffer and stabilising effect
- When the hydraulic system is suddenly started or stopped, the hydraulic oil will produce a pressure shock. The reservoir cylinder can play a buffering role, reduce the pressure fluctuations in the hydraulic system, protect the hydraulic components from shock damage, but also help the smooth operation of the hydraulic system.
