The crane foot relay valve is an important component used in the air brake braking system, and its main functions include the following points:
1. shorten the braking reaction time: when the driver steps on the brake pedal, the air pressure output from the brake valve is fed into the relay valve as the control pressure, the relay valve quickly conveys the compressed air in the cylinder directly to the brake air chamber without flowing through the brake valve, which greatly shortens the inflation pipeline of the brake air chamber and accelerates the inflation process of the air chamber.
2. Enhanced braking effect: Through rapid inflation, the relay valve enables the pressure in the brake air chamber to be built up quickly, thus enhancing the braking effect.
3. Preventing system conflict: In the crane's braking system, the foot relay valve prevents the simultaneous operation of the travelling brake system and the parking brake system, avoiding overlapping of forces in the combined spring brake cylinder and spring brake chamber, and thus preventing overloading of the mechanical transmission elements.
4. Rapid inflation and venting: the foot-relay valve can be quickly inflated and deflated, making the braking system more rapid and sensitive when braking and unbraking.
