Between transmission and drive axle in front-engine rear-wheeldrive vehicles
When the distance is long, the drive shaft is split into two or more sections with additional intermediate supports.
Between driveline components where frame deformation causes axial misalignment
Between transfer case and drive axle (or Between drive axles) in multi-axle drive vehicles
