About O2 sensor 68 50 645
Introduced in 1977, the O2 sensor capsule is used to measure and monitor inhaled O2 concentrations in anesthesia and intensive care equipment. Since then, more than 1.6 million* sensors have been manufactured and shipped worldwide. This sensor is used in devices such as Fabius series, Evita series, Incubator 8000, Cicero A/B and Oxydig. O2 sensor capsules have a lifespan of more than 12 months
Fast O2 sensors 68 50 930
Fast O2 sensors were introduced to the market in 1994 as a method of measuring and monitoring inspiratory and expiratory O2 concentrations with respiratory resolution. Since then, more than 470,000 sensors have been shipped worldwide. This sensor is used in devices such as Primus, Julian, Cicero EM, Cato, PM8060, PM8050, etc. The fast O2 sensor has a lifespan of more than 6 months.
The Dräger O2 sensor is an electrochemical system for measuring the partial pressure of O2. The sensor works on the principle of galvanic cells. The gas mixture to be monitored diffuses through the plastic membrane into the sensor electrolyte. The electrolyte consists of a working electrode (gold electrode) and a counter electrode (lead electrode). The oxygen to be monitored is electrochemically reduced at the working electrode.
O2 + 2H2O + 4e- → 4OH: while the counter electrode is oxidized:
2Pb → 2Pb2 + + 4eA generates a current that is proportional to the partial pressure of O2 in the mixed gas to be monitored.
Benefits
- 100% system compatibility with Dräger devices and systems
- High measurement accuracy with above-average quality standards and extensive testing
-Compliance with national and international requirements

Calibrating
The last calibration/zero value is stored until the next calibration/zero, even if the machine is turned off. The pressure sensor used to measure airway pressure is calibrated automatically. The flow and O2 sensors are calibrated automatically every day.
The flow sensor can be calibrated manually at any time, even during ventilation
The O2 sensor can be calibrated manually at any time, even during ventilation. The applied O2 concentration is not affected by calibration. CO2 sensor calibration can be checked during ventilation
O2 . sensor calibration
- Before operation, during equipment inspection.
- After replacing the O2 sensor (allow 15 minutes for the O2 heating time if the deviation between the measured value and the set value exceeds 2% by volume).
The O2 sensor can be calibrated during ventilation.
Start calibration: Press the button »Calibrate«. Screen (example):
Press the key »O2«.
»LED« display button changes color to yellow.
Message in the instructions at the bottom of the screen: O2 calibration After calibration is complete, the yellow »LED« on the display button goes out.
