♦ What's High-Tg?

Tg refers to the glass transition temperature. When the substrate is exposed to high temperatures, it will change from a glass state to a rubber state. High Tg PCB refers to a circuit board that can withstand higher temperatures without deforming or turning into rubber. Materials with a glass transition temperature above 170°C are usually classified as high Tg PCBs, those above 150°C are mid-range Tg PCBs, and those above 130°C are low Tg PCBs.

♦ Features of High-Tg PCB?

- High heat resistance: It can maintain stable physical and electrical properties in high temperature environments (such as higher soldering temperatures in lead-free processes), and reduce the floating phenomenon of PCB pads during infrared heat melting, welding and thermal shock.
- Low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE): It can reduce warping and deformation caused by temperature, prevent the degradation of plated through-hole performance and copper breakage in multi-layer PCBs, and improve product reliability.
- Excellent mechanical strength: Good mechanical strength at high temperatures, more reliable during transportation, installation and use, and reduce damage caused by mechanical stress.

- Communication equipment: such as mobile communication base stations, routers, switches, etc., to achieve high-speed signal transmission and stable electrical connection.
- Medical equipment: such as medical imaging equipment, to ensure safe and stable operation under harsh conditions such as high temperature and high humidity.
- Automotive electronics: used for automotive electronic components such as engine control units to withstand high temperatures during vehicle operation.
- Industrial control: such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to ensure stable operation of equipment during long-term manufacturing processes.
