♦ What is Ceramic PCB?                                                 

   

Ceramic PCB refers to a special process board in which copper foil is directly bonded to the surface (single or double sides) of alumina (Al2O3) or aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramic substrate at high temperature. The ultra-thin composite substrate has excellent electrical insulation performance, high thermal conductivity, excellent soft solderability and high adhesion strength. It can also be etched with various patterns like PCB boards, and has a large current carrying capacity.

 

 

 

 

 

♦ Ceramic PCB Types

    • High-temperature ceramic PCB (HTCC): Made of ceramic raw materials + solvents/adhesives, after coating and circuit printing, baked at 1600-1700℃ for 48 hours, high temperature resistance, high reliability, used for extreme environment equipment.

    • Low-temperature ceramic PCB (LTCC): Made of crystal glass + metal gold paste, cut and laminated, and then treated in a 900℃ oven. The mechanical strength and thermal conductivity are better than HTCC, suitable for products with heat dissipation requirements such as LED lights.

    • Thick film ceramic PCB: The surface is printed with silver/gold palladium conductor paste (thickness 10-13 microns), sintered below 1000℃, low cost, and the most widely used.

 

Applications of Ceramic PCB 

    • ​​High-power LEDs: outdoor lighting, car headlights, display screens, etc., efficient heat dissipation and extended life.
    • RF/microwave communications: 5G base stations, radars, satellite communications, stable transmission of high-frequency signals.
    • ​​Power electronics: power modules, electric vehicle inverters, high temperature resistance, high current carrying capacity.
    • ​​High reliability fields: aerospace, military equipment, medical equipment, stable operation in extreme environments.
