The GE IS220PIOAH1A is an ARCNET Interface I/O Module part of the Mark VIe Series, designed for GE’s distributed control systems—primarily enabling excitation control interfaces in turbine setups. As a specialized communications bridge, it connects to the JPDV terminal board via a 37-pin connector, facilitating data exchange between excitation control systems and central controllers. Supporting both simplex and redundant configurations, it ensures reliable operation in mission-critical industrial environments, with roots in GE’s legacy Speedtronic control technology.

ARCNET & Excitation Control: Acts as a dedicated interface for excitation systems, using an ARCNET controller chip to link to the excitation control DLAN LAN. Dual RJ-45 Ethernet ports enable flexible network connections, with ENET1 typically paired with R controllers for redundancy.
Hardware & Power: Runs on a 32-bit RISC 266 MHz CPU with QNX OS, powered by 28 V DC. Features an ambient temp sensor and operates at -30 to 65°C.
Installation & Compatibility: Mounts directly to JPDV terminal boards, with threaded studs for secure fixing. Configurable via ToolboxST, with installation guidelines in GEH-6800 Vol II.
Diagnostics & Monitoring: Front-panel LEDs indicate power, Ethernet status, and activity; an infrared port enables low-level diagnostics/host naming. Electronic ID checks during startup confirm I/O pack-terminal board compatibility, while a green PWR LED signals normal power.
