Secondly, the adoption of a fully mechanized construction method for soft rock large deformation tunnels has revolutionized the traditional manual construction practices. This transformation has resulted in improved construction quality and speed, a 20% reduction in initial support personnel, shortened individual construction cycle times by almost 2 hours, and up to a 48.6% decrease in tunnel convergence values.
