Rogers RT/duroid 5880 high frequency laminates are PTFE composites reinforced with glass microfibers, crafted for precise stripline and microstrip circuit applications. The randomly oriented microfibers contribute to exceptional dielectric constant uniformity, which remains consistent across panels and stable over a broad frequency range. Its low dissipation factor (0.0009 at 10GHz) allows it to be utilized effectively up to Ku-band and beyond, while its dielectric constant of 2.2 +/- 0.02 at 10 GHz/23°C further enhances its electrical performance.

 

In terms of processing and durability, RT/duroid 5880 laminates are simple to cut, shear, and machine into shape. They hold up against all solvents and reagents, whether hot or cold, commonly used in etching printed circuits or plating edges and holes. Additional key features include a temperature coefficient of dielectric constant (TCDk) of -125 ppm/°C, low moisture absorption of 0.02%, CTE in X-axis of 31 ppm/°C, Y-axis of 48 ppm/°C and Z-axis of 237 ppm/°C, Td 500 °C TGA, UL 94-V0 rating, lead-free process compatibility, and isotropic properties.
