This connector combines the physical RJ45 jack with integrated magnetic components (transformers) necessary for Ethernet signal conditioning and isolation. The LPJ0017GENL is optimized for 10/100 Base-T Ethernet applications. The transformer turn ratio is precisely maintained at 1:1 for both transmit and receive pairs, ensuring signal integrity across the isolation barrier. The primary inductance is specified at a minimum of 350μH at 100MHz with 0.1V 8mA DC bias, sufficient for maintaining signal quality in Ethernet applications.
The connector demonstrates excellent performance across key electrical parameters. Insertion loss is limited to -1.0dB maximum from 0.3-100 MHz, ensuring signal strength is maintained across the frequency range used by 10/100 Ethernet. Return loss specifications vary by frequency band (-18dB at 1-30 MHz, -16dB at 40 MHz, -14dB at 50 MHz, and -12dB at 60-80 MHz), ensuring signal reflections are kept to a minimum, reducing data errors.
Cross-talk between signal pairs is well-controlled, with specifications ranging from -45dB at 30MHz to -35dB at 100MHz, providing excellent channel separation. Similarly, common mode rejection ranges from -35dB at 30 MHz to -25dB at 100 MHz, effectively reducing electromagnetic interference. The isolation is rated at 1500Vrms (hipot test), providing robust protection against voltage surges and ensuring safety in various applications.
