RTV-2 platinum-cured 1:1 addition-type liquid silicone rubber

In the field of mold making, RTV-2 platinum-cured 1:1 addition-type liquid silicone rubber has become an ideal material for making high-precision, high-quality molds due to its unique properties.The platinum catalytic system ensures no bubbles, low shrinkage (<0.1%), and resistance to gypsum alkaline corrosion (pH 10-12), and the mold life is up to 500+ castings. It is suitable for scenes with extremely high precision requirements such as complex reliefs and cultural relics restoration.

(1) Nano-level detail reproduction capability
It can accurately capture the fine texture of 0.05mm on the gypsum master mold (such as sculpture folds, hair, inscriptions), far exceeding the traditional sulfurized silicone (which can only reproduce ≥0.2mm details).

(2)Zero-corrosive safe contact 

The platinum catalytic system has no acidic by-products, which prevents the surface of the gypsum master mold from powdering (the pH value of traditional silicone is 3-5, and long-term contact will damage the gypsum)

(1)Restoration and reproduction of cultural relics
Application:

 Museum plaster cultural relics re-molding (such as Buddha statues, inscriptions)
Technology points:
Use Shore A 10-15 ultra-soft silicone to avoid pulling fragile plaster during demolding;
Add 3% silicone oil to reduce viscosity and ensure that it penetrates into the cracks of cultural relics to replicate the internal structure.

Process optimization:

4.Mold making process of RTV-2 platinum-cured 1:1 addition-type liquid silicone rubber
(1) Prototype preparation
Clean and process the mold prototype to ensure that the surface is smooth and free of impurities.
(2) Mixing and degassing
Mix components A and B in a 1:1 ratio, stir evenly and vacuum degas to avoid bubbles affecting the quality of the mold.
(3) Pouring and curing
Slowly pour the mixed silicone rubber onto the prototype to ensure that the details are completely covered.
Cure at room temperature or under heating conditions, usually for a few hours to a day.
(4) Demolding and post-processing
After curing, carefully demold and check the integrity and accuracy of the mold.
Surface treatment or secondary curing can be performed as needed.

Packed in iron drum or plastic drum, transported as non-dangerous goods, sealed at room temperature 25°C, and protected from acid and alkali impurities, the storage period is 12 months.

6.Precautions :

1. Do a small amount of testing before use, and then put it into use.

2. Do not add color or powder to the silica gel at will before testing. Do not contact with water, acid, alkali or other organic matter containing sulfur, phosphorus and nitrogen, so as not to affect the curing of silica gel.

3. This product is a platinum catalyst silica gel, which cannot be in contact with condensation type silica gel. Before using the silica gel, tools and containers need to be cleaned with thinner water.

         4. If you need to color, please add the color paste to component B by 2/1000, and stir evenly.
