Maintenance Steps

1. Preliminary Troubleshooting:

• Check the Belt: Observe whether the belt is broken or cracked. Press the belt with your finger; the deflection should be ≤15mm (if too loose, adjust the tension pulley);
• Check the Wiring: Confirm that the connections between the generator output terminal (B+), excitation terminal (F), the battery, and the wiring harness are secure, and check for oxidation or rust (sandpaper can be used to polish the terminals).

2. Component Testing and Repair:

• Brushes and Brush Holder: Open the rear cover and remove the brush holder. If the brushes are worn excessively, replace them with brushes of the same model directly; if the brushes are jammed, clean the impurities in the brush holder and apply a small amount of lubricating grease;
• Voltage Regulator: Measure the input/output voltage of the regulator with a multimeter. If there is no voltage output, replace the regulator directly (for some vehicle models, the regulator is integrated with the generator and needs to be replaced as a whole);
• Stator/Rotor Windings: Detect with the multimeter's 'Resistance Range':
• Stator Windings: Measure the resistance between the three-phase windings, which should be uniform (about 0.2-0.5Ω). If the resistance of a certain phase is infinite (open circuit) or close to 0Ω (short circuit), replace the stator assembly;
• Rotor Windings: Measure the resistance between the slip rings (about 3-5Ω). If the resistance is infinite (open circuit) or too small (short circuit), replace the rotor assembly;
• Bearings: If there is abnormal noise or play when rotating the rotor shaft, disassemble and replace the same model sealed bearing (note to apply high-temperature resistant lubricating grease).
