17-4PH stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and heat treatability. It features exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, especially in chloride environments. Its composition—iron, chromium, nickel, copper, and molybdenum, with minor carbon and niobium—ensures reliable mechanical properties and stability in high-temperature and highly corrosive environments.

Key Characteristics:

High Strength: Achieves tensile strengths ~1100 MPa via heat treatment (e.g., under H1150: solution treatment + low-temperature aging).
Corrosion Resistance: Superior to many stainless steels, particularly in specific chemical and climatic environments.
Heat Treatability: Properties are adjustable through solution treatment and aging for enhanced strength or corrosion resistance.
Grindability: Maintains good surface finish post-heat treatment for precision applications.
