Description:
316L stainless steel pipe is a kind of hollow long circular steel pipe, which is mainly used in oil, chemical industry, medical treatment, food, light industry, mechanical instruments and other industrial transportation pipes and mechanical structural parts.In addition, at the same time of bending and torsion strength, the weight is light, so it is widely used in the manufacture of mechanical parts and engineering structures.Also commonly used for the production of a variety of conventional weapons, barrels, artillery shells and so on
Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, the molybdenum gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It is readily brake or roll formed, welded, soldered and cut by both thermal and mechanical methods. The austenitic structure gives excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures. This allows for acceptable corrosion protection to marine atmospheres when pitting corrosion is concern.They also provide good chemical resistance to most agents used in the paper, petroleum, food and dairy industries. They show excellent corrosion resistance to acetic, formic, phosphoric, and tartaric acids as well as some concentrations and temperatures of bromide and iodide solutions. When welding operations are used, the lower carbon grade 316L allows for reduced risk of intergranular corrosion caused by chromium carbide precipitation.
Grade 316L, the low carbon version of 316, is highly resistant to sensitisation (grain boundary carbide precipitation) and so is extensively used in heavy gauge welded components (about 5mm and over).
Grade 316 Stainless Steel is widely used in applications requiring corrosion resistance superior ,Typical uses include exhaust manifolds, furnace parts, heat exchangers, jet engine parts, pharmaceutical and photographic equipment, valve and pump trim, chemical equipment, digesters, tanks, evaporators, pulp, paper and textile processing equipment, parts exposed to marine atmospheres and tubing.
