Steel box girder, also known as steel plate box girder, is a common structural form of long-span bridges. Generally used on bridges with large spans. The appearance is like a box, so it is called a steel box girder, and a steel box bridge refers to a bridge whose deck is constructed of a steel box girder.
Steel plate box girder is a structural form often used in engineering. In order to study the effect of the diaphragm spacing on the distortion of the simply supported steel box girder under the concentrated load, the simply supported steel box girder with different numbers of diaphragms was set up, and the distortion effect and the rigid torsion effect under the concentrated load were compared, and the results were obtained. The maximum distortion effect as a function of the number of diaphragms. A concentrated load is applied on the top of the web of the box girder, and the calculation is carried out by the method of load decomposition according to four working conditions of distortion, rigid torsion, symmetrical bending and eccentric load.
Due to the large deck span of the steel box bridge, the steel box girder is usually divided into several small sections during construction, and then welded and assembled after being transported to the construction site, saving transportation difficulty and transportation costs. In the process of on-site welding, due to the uneven technical level of welding technicians, it is difficult to achieve perfect welding, and even welding defects occur, which can easily affect the construction quality of steel box bridges.
