ASTM A268 specification covers various grades of nominal wall thickness stainless steel pipes, suitable for general corrosion-resistant and high-temperature environments. Most of these grades are commonly referred to as the "straight chromium" type, characterized by ferromagnetism. TP430Ti (UNS S43036) is an upgraded version of ordinary 430 (UNS S43000), which adds titanium element to improve intergranular corrosion resistance and weldability. It belongs to titanium stabilized ferritic stainless steel.
Cost-Effective: Compared to austenitic stainless steels like 304, it contains no or very low nickel, significantly reducing product costs.
Strong Resistance to Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking: This is one of the greatest advantages of ferritic stainless steels, making it less susceptible to SCC in coastal atmospheres and certain chemical environments containing chloride ions.
Strong Stability: The titanium contained in its chemical composition eliminates intergranular corrosion issues during welding and sensitization temperature ranges, improving the reliability of welded structures.
Physical Advantages: Excellent thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion.
Seamless Construction: Provides higher pressure integrity, a smoother interior surface reduces media retention, and no longitudinal weld weaknesses, making it suitable for higher pressure or demanding applications.
