ASTM B466 C70600 is a specification for seamless copper-nickel pipes and tubes.This specification covers seamless copper-nickel pipes and tubes in nominal pipe sizes ranging from 1/2 inch to 6 inches. The material is composed of copper alloy C70600, which has a chemical composition of approximately 90% copper, 10% nickel, and trace amounts of iron and manganese.
Copper-nickel alloys are known for their excellent resistance to corrosion and erosion in seawater and other harsh environments. They are also known for their good thermal conductivity and resistance to biofouling. ASTM B466 C70600 pipes and tubes are commonly used in a variety of marine applications, including shipbuilding, offshore oil and gas production, and desalination plants. They are also used in heat exchangers, condensers, and other applications where corrosion resistance is important.
