ASME SA105 Forged Carbon Steel Fitting Socketwelded B16.11
ASME SA105 specification covers forged carbon steel pipe components for use in pressure systems at ambient and higher temperatures. It is the authoritative material standard for the manufacture of pressure-bearing carbon steel forged pipe fittings (especially flanges). It ensures that forgings have excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, good processability and weldability by stipulating strict chemical composition, heat treatment systems such as normalizing or quenching + tempering, and mechanical properties such as strength, plasticity, and hardness.
Pipe fittings under this standard must also meet the shape, size and pressure rating requirements of ASME B16.11. SA105 pipe fittings are widely used in non-corrosive environments with medium to high temperatures and medium to high pressures due to their reliability and cost-effectiveness. They are the basic materials for pressure piping systems in many industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical, electric power, and shipbuilding.

ASME SA105 carbon steel elbow is a key pipe fitting widely used in normal to medium temperature pressure piping systems, and the working temperature is usually ≤350°F / 175°C. It is made of carbon steel forgings that have been heat treated by normalizing (or higher level), has good strength, toughness, machinability and weldability, and is relatively economical. It is mainly used in pipeline systems in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, shipbuilding and general industries to change the direction of the pipeline. Common forms are butt welding, socket welding or threaded elbows.
