Rough geomembrane is an anti-seepage material with a rough texture on the surface through a special process. It is mainly used to enhance the stability of engineering structures.

 

Definition and classification

1. Basic composition

Using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) as raw materials, it is manufactured through processes such as blow molding and calendering, and the surface presents a uniform granular or columnar texture.

 

2. Main types

  • Single rough surface: only one side has a rough texture, and the other side is smooth;
  • Double rough surface: both sides have a rough texture;
  • Columnar rough surface: the surface is distributed with a raised columnar structure, divided into single/double columnar types.

 

Production process and standards

Manufacturing process

Use special formula resin, through film blowing or calendering process, some products add nitrogen blowing to enhance surface friction performance.

 

Implementation standards

National standard GB/T17643-2011, urban construction standard CJ/T234-2006, some products are equivalent to American standard GRI-GM13.

 

Key performance advantages

1. High friction coefficient

The rough surface design increases the friction coefficient by 30%-50%, which is suitable for steep slopes (>1:3) and vertical anti-seepage projects to prevent slippage between geomembranes and soil.

2. Mechanical properties

The tensile strength can reach 35MPa, the elongation at break is ≥100%, and the environmental stress cracking resistance is excellent.

3. Chemical stability

It is resistant to acid, alkali, oil, and ultraviolet aging, with a service life of more than 50 years, suitable for corrosive environments such as landfills and chemical sewage pools.

Application

1. Environmental protection projects

Landfill base/slope anti-seepage, sewage pool lining, hazardous waste closure.

2. Water conservancy projects

Reservoir dam slope, river slope protection, tailings pond anti-seepage, especially suitable for steep terrain.

3. Agriculture and breeding

Fish ponds, lotus ponds, biogas pools anti-seepage, to prevent soil erosion.

Construction precautions

1. Laying direction

Extend from high position to low position, leaving 1.5% margin to accommodate settlement deformation.

2. Welding process

High-pressure welding equipment is required for rough surface areas, and the weld overlap width is ≥10cm to avoid impurity contamination.

3. Edge treatment

Some products are designed with smooth edges (width 10-30cm) to facilitate traditional welding processes.
