Pavement PVC Coated Polyester Geogrid For Slope Protection And Road Construction

 

Polyester geogrid is an excellent geosynthetic made from high modulus polyester yarns. Polyester geogrid has excellent heat resistance and good resistance to long term degradation. It has good rutting resistant performance under high temperature.

Polyester geogrid has a compact woven fabric structure. This structure constitutes a grid reinforcement system which exerts strong adhesive forces on the subgrade. Polyester geogrid can effectively enhance the bearing capacity of ground.

 

Comparison with other geogrid

 

1. Differences from fiberglass geogrid

·Performance: Polyester geogeogrid have a higher elongation at break (<13%) and are suitable for non-pavement scenarios; fiberglass geogeogrid have a lower elongation (<4%) and are more suitable for high-temperature roads.

·Cost: Polyester geogeogrid are slightly cheaper, but fiberglass geogeogrid are more cost-effective in foundation reinforcement.

 

2. Differences from plastic geogrid

·Polyester geogeogrid have stronger aging resistance and are suitable for long-term exposure environments; plastic geogeogrid have lower costs but weaker weather resistance.

 

Application of polyester geogrid in construction

 

The application of polyester geogeogrid in the construction field mainly relies on its high strength, corrosion resistance and deformation resistance, and is widely used in foundation reinforcement, slope protection and other scenarios.

 

Foundation reinforcement and soft soil treatment

1. Roadbed reinforcement

Polyester geogeogrid improves the bearing capacity of soft soil foundation through interlocking effect and delays reflective cracks in asphalt pavement. For example, in highway and railway roadbeds, its tensile strength (150MPa) can disperse vertical loads and reduce settlement.

 

2. Bridge abutment foundation reinforcement

Laying under the bridge abutment can improve the bearing capacity and prevent the phenomenon of jumping caused by foundation sinking.
