Durability and maintenance requirements of Fiberglass Geogrid
1. Durability performance
1. Material properties guarantee
Corrosion resistance and aging resistance: Glass fiber grating uses inorganic glass fiber as the base material, which is resistant to chemical corrosion such as acid, alkali, and salt. After the surface is coated with asphalt or modified resin, it can resist the aging effects of environmental factors such as ultraviolet rays and ozone. The service life can reach more than 50 years under normal conditions.
Creep resistance and thermal stability: Glass fiber has no long-term creep phenomenon and maintains structural stability under long-term load; the melting point exceeds 1000℃, and the thermal stability is excellent, which is suitable for high-temperature asphalt paving.
2. Environmental adaptability
Extreme temperature: The mechanical properties are stable in the range of -45℃ to 100℃, and it resists low-temperature cracking (fracture elongation <3%) and high-temperature softening deformation.
Humidity and chemical environment: Good water permeability to avoid structural damage caused by water accumulation; resistant to sewage, oil pollution and common chemical media corrosion, suitable for special scenes such as landfills and sewage treatment plants.
Maintenance requirements and precautions
1. Maintenance during the construction phase
Base treatment: Before laying, the base needs to be thoroughly cleaned to ensure that there are no sharp objects, oil stains and loose particles to prevent damage to the grille or bonding failure.
Laying specifications:
When using the self-adhesive method, it is necessary to ensure that the adhesive surface fits tightly, and the overlap width is 75-150mm vertically and 25-50mm horizontally to avoid wrinkles or twists.
When using the anchoring method, it is necessary to avoid nailing the nails directly into the glass fiber layer to prevent fiber breakage.
Timely covering: After laying, the asphalt mixture or filler should be covered as soon as possible to reduce the aging of the adhesive layer caused by direct exposure to ultraviolet rays.
2. Maintenance during the use phase
Regular inspection: Focus on monitoring whether there is debonding or local damage in the joints and edge areas, and repair them in time to prevent cracks from expanding.
Chemical pollution protection: If used in chemical areas, it is necessary to regularly remove surface oil or corrosive substances to avoid long-term infiltration affecting the performance of the coating.
Key measures to extend durability
1. Model selection optimization
Select the corresponding tensile strength (such as 20-120KN/m) and mesh size (preferably 0.5-1 times the maximum particle size of asphalt aggregate) according to project requirements to ensure the interlocking effect.
2. Environmental adaptation design
Anti-UV coating models are selected in high-ultraviolet areas; drainage design is strengthened in rainy and humid areas to reduce water damage.
3. Composite technology application
Combine geotextile or steel-plastic grid to form a composite structure to improve impact resistance and fatigue resistance, suitable for heavy-load traffic sections.
