Product Overview & Working Principle
The 430 stainless steel hot rolled sheet is a ferritic stainless steel widely valued for its excellent thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and corrosion resistance in moderate environments. Manufactured through a hot rolling process, this sheet undergoes heating above its recrystallization temperature, allowing easier shaping and forming with improved grain structure and mechanical properties. The ferritic nature of 430 steel gives it magnetic properties and good thermal conductivity, distinguishing it from austenitic stainless steels like 304.
Hot rolling enhances toughness and dimensional stability, making it suitable for structural and industrial applications. Titanium additions in certain 430 variants improve weldability and mechanical performance compared to other ferritic grades.
Difference Between 430 and 304 Stainless Steel
Corrosion Resistance: 430 contains 16-18% chromium and little to no nickel, resulting in lower corrosion resistance than 304, which has higher chromium and nickel content.
Stability: 430 is ferritic and less stable than the austenitic 304.
Toughness: 304 exhibits greater toughness and ductility.
Thermal Conductivity: 430 has better thermal conductivity due to its ferritic structure.
Mechanical Properties: With titanium added, 430 offers better weld mechanical properties than 304.
