Heavy Tungsten Alloy Stud is usually composed of tungsten-nickel iron, tungsten-nickel copper or even tungsten-nickel copper iron. In addition, cadmium, molybdenum and other metals are added. It can be made into any shape. High specific gravity tungsten alloy tubes are commonly used as radiation shielding materials and military products. Such as shotguns, hunting gear, missiles, armor-piercing bullets, oil drilling tools, etc.
Heavy Tungsten Alloy Stud has the advantages of high density (concentration above 60% of lead), good mechanical strength, low thermal expansion, good corrosion resistance, high radiation absorption capacity (higher than lead), simple economic cycle, high strength, high specific gravity, and suitable for radiation shielding. The high gravity tungsten alloy tube provides the same radiation shielding capability as lead, while reducing the volume and thickness of the shielding container.
Compared with lead and depleted uranium, tungsten alloy is avirulent and pollution-free. High specific gravity tungsten alloy tube is mainly used for the protection of medicine bottles and syringes.
